Pickups for Telecaster
“Belfry”
Belfry™ Telecaster Neck Pickup
A Telecaster neck pickup with the open, bell-like voice of a Stratocaster.
Belfry: The part of a steeple or other structure in which a bell is hung.
The Belfry™ was created for players who love the feel and character of a Telecaster® but have always wanted a more open, expansive, and Stratocaster-like voice from the neck position.
Traditional Telecaster neck pickups are known for their warmth, smoothness, and rounded character. While those qualities are part of the instrument's charm, some players desire more clarity, air and openness. The Belfry™ was designed to explore that sound - bringing the articulation and expressive quality of a great Stratocaster neck pickup into a Telecaster-sized format.
Built with a taller bobbin, taller Alnico 5 magnets, vintage-style construction, and 42 AWG Plain Enamel magnet wire, the Belfry™ delivers increased openness, enhanced clarity, and a more strat-like attack than a traditional Telecaster neck pickup.
The result is a pickup that remains unmistakably Telecaster while offering a more spacious and bell-like character. Notes bloom naturally, chords retain excellent separation, and the additional clarity allows the neck position to cut through without becoming thin or harsh.
The nickel silver cover preserves the familiar appearance and shielding benefits of a traditional Telecaster neck pickup while allowing for improved high-frequency response compared to traditional long-skirt brass covers.
Whether you're looking for richer clean tones, more expressive chord work, bluesy neck pickup leads, or a more versatile Telecaster platform, the Belfry™ offers a unique voice that bridges the worlds of the Telecaster and Stratocaster.
