Pickups for Jazz Bass

Rumble™ Jazz Bass Pickup Set

Inspired by the legendary Jazz Bass pickups that redefined electric bass.

When the Jazz Bass® was introduced in 1960, it expanded the vocabulary of the electric bass. With two single-coil pickups and a narrower neck, it offered players a level of clarity, articulation, and tonal flexibility that quickly made it a favorite among session musicians and bassists across nearly every style of music.

The Rumble™ is my interpretation of those classic early Jazz Bass pickups. It was a new design that helped define countless recordings over the past six decades.

Built with vintage-correct 42 AWG Plain Enamel magnet wire and Alnico 5 rod magnets, the Rumble™ delivers the balanced response, fantastic note definition, and dynamic touch sensitivity that have made the Jazz Bass one of the most versatile instruments ever created.

The bridge pickup produces focused mids, articulate attack, and the unmistakable growl that Jazz Bass players have relied on for generations. The neck pickup complements it with full, supportive lows, warm mids, and remarkable clarity. Used together, they create the balanced, characterful and punchy voice that sits effortlessly in a mix while remaining expressive and responsive to every nuance of your playing.

Rather than simply reproducing vintage specifications, I spent years studying what made the finest original Fender® pickups so musically compelling. Every aspect of the Rumble™ was refined through careful listening, comparison, and development to capture the spirit of those exceptional originals while providing the consistency expected from a modern boutique pickup.

Whether your music takes you into jazz, blues, funk, soul, country, classic rock, fusion, Americana, or the recording studio, the Rumble™ delivers the clarity, warmth, and expressive character that have made the vintage Jazz Bass one of the most respected bass designs in history.
